CALL FOR PAPERS:
SPECIAL ISSUE ON
π-FUNCTIONAL
MATERIALS
DEADLINE: AUGUST ;, ;;;;
Over the years, the readership of Chemistry of Materials has given much attention to organic π-Functional
Materials, that is, electro-active and/or optically-active materials based on delocalized π-electron systems.
As a result, Chemistry of Materials will devote one of its early 2011 issues to this area.
The Special Issue Co-Editors, Jean-Luc Brédas, Seth Marder, and Elsa Reichmanis, welcome the unsolicited
submission of Communications and full papers (Articles). Communications and Articles must represent original
contributions with new results and concepts which provide a signi;cant advance to the ;eld. Contributions may
include (but are not necessarily limited to):
;;Synthesis of π-functional materials
;;Organic semiconductor materials
;;π-functional materials and devices for photovoltaic
applications
;;π-functional materials and devices for OLED and
solid-state lighting applications
;;π-functional materials and devices for transistor
applications
;;Electroactive π-functional materials and devices
;;π-functional materials for nonlinear optics and
two-photon processes
;;Interfacial science
;;(bio)imaging, labeling, and sensing with
π-functional systems
;;Functional π-systems for therapeutic applications
;;Theory of functional π-materials
;;Industrial development of functional π-systems
;;Fluorinated conjugated π-materials
;;Graphene
;;Self-assembly and aggregation of functional
π-materials
Papers (Articles and Communications) must be submitted by August 1, 2010
